I have captured two wild yeasts inside my kitchen. I suppose I should be concerned that I harvested the yeasts under the plants on the table we use for dinner,

Aaand, it’s Thursday!

Posted by marshal on February 20, 2014 in Thoughts, Uncategorized |

I have been a slug about writing for my blog, partly because I’m not sure anyone reads it, and partly because I am lazy. However, I decided I am going to try to write something every Thursday, even if it’s gobbledegook. So, here goes. I have been working on too many things lately, which has […]

I tried making this recipe at home. It is very delicious and similar to what we had on our trip at the Hominy Grill restaurant.

Sailing to Byzantium

Posted by marshal on September 10, 2009 in Uncategorized |

“THAT is no country for old men,” – Sailing to Byzantium by William Butler Yeats. Yeats could have been talking about computers as far as I am concerned. My desktop PC has problems getting on the internet and my word processing program seems to be corrupted. Now, I use my computers as typewriters, storage cabinets […]

Sad Anniversary

Posted by marshal on September 8, 2009 in Uncategorized |

9/11 is this week, a truly sad occasion. Even sadder is we are still in afghanistan and Osama Ben Laden is still at large. Wasn’t he the reason we went into there? I would love to see us out of there next year.

Cedar City and Motorcycle Maintenance

Posted by marshal on August 13, 2009 in Uncategorized |

The heading probably sounds weird, but I’ll explain. I had been re-reading Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, and discovering how much I had missed the last time. Well, things were going along quite well until I got to where Pirsig talks about Phaedrus (sp) teaching quality. Phaedrus was, of course, himself before electroshock […]

Maintenance Pt III

Posted by marshal on July 29, 2009 in Uncategorized |

As I said earlier, I had read Motorcycle Maintenance years ago, and after I got past thinking Pirsig was a tight-ass, started to enjoy the book. Reading it now, though, I wonder if I really read the same book, or did some one slip something over on me? I understand now why he kept nattering […]

Maintenance pt II

Posted by marshal on July 25, 2009 in Uncategorized |

After the thing with the battery this morning, we headed over to the gas station to fill up. This summer, we have been using the old 4/40 air conditioning, so Patsy lowered her window, but mine didn’t move. This was not good. While I was filling the tank, I looked in the owner’s manual and […]
